Nissan has been known to engage in a deal or two with competing automakers from time to time, and we here at Passport Nissan are more than alright with it. After all, the Japanese automaker only has its customer's best interest at heart when it opts to work with the enemy, so to speak.
The latest partnership of the Renault-Nissan Alliance? That would be with the Tri-Pointed Star's parent company, Daimler. Together, the two companies will work to produce four-cylinder engines for use their respective luxury brands.
"This is the newest milestone in our pragmatic collaboration and our most significant project outside of Europe so far," says Carlos Ghosn, CEO, Renault-Nissan. "Localized capacity reduces exposure to foreign exchange rates while rapidly enabling a good business development in North America - a win-win for the Alliance and Daimler."1
Of course, we realize that you're like wondering what impact this will have on the new Nissan models that you'll find for sale here at 5000 Auth Way Marlow Heights, MD 20746, right? In terms of a direct impact, likely not much. But it will certainly lead to more growth for the Japanese automaker, as the powerplants are set to be built in their factories, right here in the United States. And we all know how the story goes with growth for an automaker. In short, it leads to more redesigned and all-new models, groundbreaking tech, used Nissan models that last for years down the road, and most importantly, more jobs.
This trend is, after all, what has led to the success of such great vehicles like the Nissan Rogue, Titan, and Altima. And each one is available for a test drive today. Simply dial (888) 251-6394 or fill out our contact form online.
