Nissan NV200 Goes Electric for FedEx

We here at Passport Nissan are thoroughly impressed with the Nissan NV200 van. Not only has it been selected to become the "Taxi Cab of Tomorrow" for NYC, but it's also being tested as a food truck too. Another big feat for the Nissan Van is that it has recently been picked for the FedEx UK fleet, proving that it can fulfill a wide range of roles with no trouble at all. But the most interesting aspect of this testing is that FedEx is actually testing an all-electric drivetrain in the NV200, similar to that found in the Nisan LEAF..
The initial phase of testing for FedEx UK will last about two months, and in that time a wide range of criteria will be monitored. Of course, with this being new technology, the company will monitor how stable the vehicles are on the road. They'll also be paying close attention to how much money they can save through powering their fleet with electricity.
More specifically, Nissan is anticipating that the all-electric NV200 van will be able to travel at a rate of 73 miles on a charge. Another important aspect of this incredible savings, however, is how much time may be lost due to charging. The vehicle averages about seven hours to completely charge up on a 240-volt outlet, which means that there will be some down time in store for their drivers. And we all know that time is money, especially in the delivery business.
Still, we here at 5000 Auth Way Marlow Heights, MD 20746 are inclined to say that it will all work out. After all, the electric-powered Nissan NV200 represents the clear-cut future of automotive travel, and Nissan is working to improve charging times every day. In fact, the company is even claiming that they'll have a 30-minute quick charger completed in the near future.
