Nissan Rogue and Rogue Sport named 2019 Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buy Award winners
Consumer Guide® today announced the winners of its 2019 Automotive Best Buy Awards – with the Nissan Rogue topping the Compact Crossover/SUV Class for the fifth consecutive year and the Nissan Rogue Sport heading the Subcompact Crossover/SUV for the second straight year.
In compiling the Best Buy winners, the editors of Consumer Guide evaluate more than 150 new vehicles each year. Winning vehicles have to distinguish themselves as being “a good dollar value” compared to others in the class. The 2019 Rogue has a starting MSRP1 of $24,800 for the Rogue S FWD model, while the 2019 Rogue Sport has a starting price1 of $22,240 for the Rogue Sport S FWD.
Rogue, Nissan’s top-selling model, offers expanded standard technology for the 2019 model year. The 2019 Rogue is one of the first Nissan models to offer Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of six advanced active safety and driver-assist technologies. It is offered as standard equipment on SV and SL grades of the 2019 Rogue.

Nissan LEAF helps to power company’s North American facilities with new charging technology
Imagine a technology that could help companies save on their electric utility costs by simply using energy already stored in electric vehicles (EVs). Working with Fermata Energy, a vehicle-to-grid systems company, Nissan North America is launching a new pilot program under the Nissan Energy Share initiative, which leverages bi‑directional EV charging technology to partially power its North American headquarters in Franklin, TN, and its design center in San Diego, CA.
As the name implies, bi-directional charging technology means not only charging the Nissan LEAF, but also pulling energy stored in the LEAF’s battery pack to partially power external electrical loads, such as buildings and homes.
“As the only vehicle on the market utilizing bi-directional charging, the Nissan LEAF proves exceptionally useful while on the road and also while parked,” said Brian Maragno, Director, EV Sales and Marketing, Nissan North America. “As a pioneer in the EV space, we’re thrilled to continue to show new, meaningful technologies that leverage the LEAF’s growing capabilities.”
The new 2019 Nissan Murano made its world debut today at the Los Angeles Auto Show, offering an early look at the redesigned exterior and refreshed interior prior to reaching Nissan U.S. showrooms in December 2018.
“The first-generation Nissan Murano had a profound impact on the SUV market when it was introduced in 2003. As a pioneer of the CUV trend, it offered forward-looking design sensibility that combined an elegant style with premium features – without a luxury price tag,” said Dan Mohnke, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing and Operations, Nissan Division U.S., Nissan North America, Inc.
The revisions to the popular third-generation Murano’s exterior add a more pronounced front V-motion grille, redesigned LED headlights and taillights, new LED fog lights, new 18-inch and 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheel designs and three fresh new exterior colors – Sunset Drift Chromaflair, Mocha Almond Pearl and Deep Blue Pearl.
The Nissan Maxima, which makes its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, receives a fresh new look for the 2019 model year. The new Maxima will also offer available Nissan Safety Shield 360 technology, a suite of six advanced safety and driver-assist technologies. The 2019 Maxima, the flagship of Nissan’s sedan lineup, goes on sale in December.
The 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show public days run from Friday, Nov. 30 through Sunday, Dec. 9.
