Make summer travel safer, save time and money with Nissan’s Easy-Fill Tire Alert system
With gas prices rising and the summer road trip season here, properly inflated vehicle tires are a must. Nissan’s Easy-Fill Tire Alert feature relieves the pressure of worrying about perfectly inflated tires.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), four out of five consumers are driving with improperly inflated tires – too much or too little air pressure. With properly inflated tires, those consumers could save as much as 11 cents per gallon on fuel and extend the life of a tire by 4,700 miles.
In the U.S., Nissan has sold more than 5.3-million vehicles with the brand’s exclusive Easy-Fill Tire Alert Technology – about 21 million tires. As demonstrated in a recent video comparison, the feature allows underinflated tires to be filled to the recommended pressure in about half the time compared to using a traditional tire gauge. Nissan’s innovative ProPILOT Assist semi-autonomous driving system has been a hit with customers, with more than 120,000 vehicles featuring the technology sold globally. The availability of ProPILOT Assist is now set to expand to additional models, including the Nissan Rogue Sport in the U.S. and the Qashqai in Canada, beginning in late 2018, as Nissan CEO Hiroto Saikawa said today during the company’s fiscal year 2017 financial results announcement.

Strong Nissan LEAF sales drive global EV momentum
Nissan’s global electric vehicle sales jumped 10% last fiscal year, driven by growing customer demand for the zero-emission Nissan LEAF, the world’s best-selling EV.
The 100% electric car posted robust growth across all the major electric-vehicle markets – Japan, Europe and the U.S. – in the fiscal year that ended March 31.
Demand is expected to keep rising as customers embrace the new, second-generation Nissan LEAF, which offers increased range and new, advanced technologies. Sales of the redesigned model, introduced in October 2017, are gaining traction in Japan and the U.S. The all-new LEAF is set to go on sale in more new markets this fiscal year, including Latin America and the Asia & Oceania region. Nissan Armada “Mountain Patrol” project vehicle build underway with assist from Nissan Truck social media fans
Following in the tracks of the Nissan TITAN-based Project Basecamp, construction is currently underway for Armada “Mountain Patrol,” a dream overlanding SUV based off the family adventure-ready Nissan Armada. And with a month left until its debut, Nissan is asking fans to help get Armada Mountain Patrol1 to the finish line.
Over the next three weeks, fans can visit the @NissanUSATrucks Instagram and Facebook page to vote on three categories: tire model, exterior design (vinyl wrap) and roof-mounted tent2. Fans should utilize the hashtag #MountainPatrol. Voting will continue through May 10, with the resulting Armada Mountain Patrol making its debut at the 2018 Overland Expo WEST – one of the premier overlanding events in the country – May 18-20 at Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, Ariz.
