The Nissan Armada Snow Patrol, which makes its world debut this week at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show, takes Nissan’s flagship SUV to new heights – literally. With its three-inch suspension lift, extreme off-road tires, massive front bumper, light bar and roof rack, the one-off Snow Patrol project takes Armada out of the carpool line and onto snow covered mountains – returning Armada to its roots as an adventure-ready off-roader.
“While the 2018 Armada drives like a luxury sedan, it has a long off-road heritage as the Nissan Patrol, a global expedition vehicle,” said Billy Hayes, division vice president, Commercial Vehicles and Trucks, Nissan North America, Inc. “As part of our celebration of winter at the Chicago Auto Show, we wanted to remind our growing family of Armada owners and enthusiasts that this full-size SUV stands ready to take you to the mountains, or at least safely through Chicago streets covered in lake effect snow.”

Hytch rewards carpooling with cash, collaborates with Nissan on a first-of-its-kind mobility solution
Nissan and Hytch have teamed up to offer a new way to get from “point A to point B” using cash rewards to promote carpooling. The goal is to reduce traffic and explore future mobility solutions.
Users of the new app called Hytch Rewards can connect with their friends, family, co-workers and neighbors to share a ride. Once engaged, the technology tracks route details and pays drivers and passengers to ride together.
“Hytch Rewards isn’t your ordinary ride sharing app. Users will get rewarded for changing their behaviors through incentivized carpooling,” said Mark Cleveland, Hytch co-founder and CEO. “We look forward to seeing the positive impact Hytch will have on people and communities in Tennessee.”
Nissan sees the opportunity as a competitive advantage because the app will enable a better understanding of consumer behavior as more people embrace new forms of mobility, like carpooling, car sharing and ride sharing.
New Nissan LEAF named World Car of the Year finalist
The New Nissan LEAF has been named as a top 10 finalist in the prized 2018 World Car of the Year awards.
It was double recognition for the Nissan LEAF, with the new-generation electric vehicle also making the final four in the 2018 World Green Car category.
Revealed in Japan late last year, the Nissan LEAF has been completely reinvented, combining greater range with a dynamic new design and advanced technologies.
A jury of 82 motoring journalists from around the world selected the finalists by secret ballot based on their evaluation of each vehicle at exclusive drive events staged by the award’s organizer.

A miniature car wash, about the size and shape of a popcorn machine, plays an important role at the Nissan Technical Center North America in Michigan. Equipped with a spinning brush that has vibrant blue bristles, this highly specialized (and fun to watch!) machine allows engineers to test paint samples to make sure Nissan’s exterior paints hold up to the tough environment of automatic car washes.
