For the second year in a row, Nissan has earned more awards than any other manufacturer1 in the Vincentric "Best Fleet Value in America" awards. Now in its 12 year, the award program identifies best-in-class lifecycle costs in order to help organizations select the best vehicles for their fleet needs. Vincentric performs the cost of ownership analysis on over 2,400 vehicle configurations based on typical fleet use, including factors such as depreciation, fuel, maintenance and repairs. more The individual Nissan winners in category include: • Nissan Versa S Plus – Best Fleet Value Subcompact (second year in a row) • Nissan Versa Note S Plus – Best Fleet Value Subcompact Hatchback (second year in a row) • Nissan Altima S 2.5L – Best Fleet Value Mid-Size (two-time winner) • Nissan Leaf S – Best Fleet Value Electric/Plug-In Hybrid (second year in a row) • Nissan NV200 S – Best Fleet Value Small Commercial Cargo Van (four-time winner) • Nissan NV1500 S – Best Fleet Value Full-Size ½-Ton Cargo Van (second year in a row) • Nissan NV3500 S – Best Fleet Value Full-Size 1-Ton Passenger Van (second year in a row) "We are honored to be recognized as the leading award winner by Vincentric for the second straight year, especially since we have winners in passenger car, EV and both small and large van categories," said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations. "Commercial fleets are a great real-world proving grounds for any vehicle and we're proud that Nissan vehicles continue to be acknowledged by the industry experts." "The repeat success of Nissan fleet vehicles was very impressive this year," said Vincentric President, David Wurster. "We saw many Nissan products delivering the lowest depreciation costs in their segment, contributing greatly to the strong Nissan results in our 2017 awards." Nissan is aggressively pursuing commercial and fleet sales in 2017 with the addition of new Single Cab and King Cab body configurations of the new Nissan TITAN and TITAN XD pickups, which, like the Nissan NV200, NV Cargo and NV Passenger vans, feature the industry's best2 5-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.
As far as work vehicles go, broadcast vans have a very unique job to perform. Specialized video gear, satellite equipment and masts mean a heavy payload. Meanwhile the crew needs plenty of interior room to work without hunching. Nissan and EVgo have revealed a plan to connect Boston and Washington D.C. via nine electric-vehicle DC fast-charge sites. Unveiled at the opening ceremony of the 2017 New York International Auto Show, the plan will deliver a robust charging infrastructure along I-95, providing EV owners peace of mind when driving along the route. The Northeast charging route is slated to be on-line this fall. The "I-95 Fast Charge ARC" is already under construction. Covering the 500-mile span between the two cities, the nine sites and 50 total charging stations will have a capability of charging four or more EVs simultaneously at a power output of 50kW. The charging sites have been designed with future advances in EV technologies in mind, and have been pre-wired for a high-power charging power output of up to 150kW with simple upgrades once such technology is available to consumers. "Regardless of range capability, a convenient fast-charge infrastructure along high-traffic routes is imperative in the mass-adoption of electric vehicles," said JeSean Hopkins, senior manager, EV infrastructure strategy & business development, Nissan North America, Inc. "This element of the EV equation is seemingly overlooked by others, but we’re all-in. Following a similar project in California, this is our second ‘corridor’ project in the U.S. and completion is expected in time for the launch of the all-new Nissan LEAF."
Wishing you a Happy Easter! May the Easter bunny bring you lots of chocolate and may it be a wonderful time spent with your friends and family.
Nissan once again received the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award, the highest honor given to top organizations dedicated to protecting the environment by making their operations more energy efficient. This marks the sixth consecutive year that Nissan has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its continued commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving energy management. more "Nissan remains committed to reducing our carbon footprint as we manufacture some of the highest quality vehicles sold in North America," said Rebecca Vest, vice president, Corporate Development and Social Responsibility. "We are honored to be recognized once again with the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award." Nissan's efforts to reduce energy usage include switching to more efficient LED lighting, enhancing the compressed air leak production program, optimizing chilled water systems and using a paint process involving less volatile organic compounds that has cut energy usage by 30 percent. Nissan manufacturing operations in the U.S. include the Nissan Vehicle Assembly Plant in Smyrna, Tennessee, which assembled more vehicles than any other automotive plant in North America in 2016. This facility and Nissan's plant in Canton, Mississippi, also were recently awarded the ENERGY STAR Certification for the eleventh year in a row, signifying Nissan's spot among the top 25 percent of the automotive manufacturing industry for superior energy management. The 2017 Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Awards are bestowed upon a diverse set of organizations that have demonstrated continued leadership in energy efficiency. Winners range from small, family-owned businesses to Fortune 500 organizations – representing energy-efficient products, services, new homes, and buildings in the commercial, industrial and public sectors. Nissan's accomplishments will be recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. on April 26, 2017.
