Alliance Ventures invests in Transit to advance multi-modal transportation and Mobility-As-A-Service strategy

Transit’s mobile app aggregates and maps real-time transportation data, functional in more than 175 metropolitan areas around the world. Alliance Ventures, the strategic venture capital arm of Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, has announced today that it has invested in the latest round of funding in Transit, a multi-modal transportation mobile app company based in Montreal, Canada. This marks the latest technology investment by Alliance Ventures, launched earlier this year to support start-ups, early-stage development and entrepreneurs at the cutting edge of next-generation systems for the automotive industry. more François Dossa, Alliance Global Vice President, Ventures and Open innovation, said: "We are pleased to make a strategic investment in Transit, the leading urban mobility navigation start-up in North America. This investment, which will advance Transit's efforts to make mobility seamless and accessible in cities, fits with the Alliance 2022 strategy to become a leader in robo-vehicle ride-hailing mobility services and a provider of vehicles for public transit use and car-sharing." Sam Vermette, chief executive of Transit, added: "New modes of mobility are entering the market at record speeds. It took decades for car-sharing to catch on. Now, e-bikes and scooters are being rolled out in weeks. This is an exciting time, as Transit helps people navigate their new mobility options. We look forward to working closely with Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi as Transit grows." Transit's mobile app platform enables multi-modal transportation, integrating public transit, ride-hailing, bike-sharing, and scooter-sharing. By combining real-time data from transit agencies with user crowdsourcing, Transit provides the most accurate information. Users enable GO, a function to get real-time notifications for their ride. Transit then tracks the real-time location of the vehicle and notifies the user when to leave for their stop, when to disembark, and sends adjusted ETAs. The investment reflects the capability of Transit in advancing multi-modal transportation as new modes of mobility rapidly enter the market. Transit is seen as a leader in its field, servicing more than 175 metropolitan areas globally.

Exterior and interior modifications include custom body panels and Gloss Burnt Orange body wrap, along with a full roll cage and diamond-pattern upholstery offering a contemporary throwback to the diamond pattern vinyl used in the original 240Z. Topping off the project are NISMO-branded RAYS cast aluminum-alloy 18x10.5-inch wheels and Hankook RS4 285/35R18 high performance tires. Chris Forsberg Formula DRIFT 370Z Three-time Formula DRIFT Champion Chris Forsberg's instantly recognizable Nissan 370Z takes time off the racing circuit to make an appearance at the Nissan SEMA display. Nissan earns five awards at 2018 Texas Truck Rodeo

Rain pouring and temperatures in the 40s, Nissan shined at the 26th annual Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) Texas Truck Rodeo. Battling historic rainfall in the Austin area, testing conditions this year were especially challenging. Following two days of trail and on-road evaluations in the hills of Austin, the all-new 2018 Kicks has been named "Compact CUV of Texas" and "Best Value", headlining five total Nissan awards. "Making its debut appearance at the Texas Truck Rodeo, we are thrilled to have the all-new Nissan Kicks named 'Best Value' and 'Compact CUV of Texas' – a category loaded with competition," said Dan Mohnke, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing & Operations, Nissan Division U.S. "With its dramatic styling, personal technology, intelligent safety, efficient powertrain and strong value positioning, Kicks is a natural choice in the great state of Texas." more Also a fan favorite among Texans, the 2018 Murano reclaimed the title of "Mid-Size SUV of Texas," supporting the strong showing of crossovers and SUVs from the company. On the truck side, the 2019 TITAN XD Diesel Single Cab earned the "Commercial Vehicle of Texas" title for the third straight year. The Nissan Smokin' TITAN, the ultimate tailgating and barbecuing pickup truck1, was also named "Top Display Vehicle" of this year's Rodeo. The 2019 TITAN earned runner-up honors in the Full-size Pickup Truck, Luxury Pickup Truck and Off-road Pickup Truck categories. "The full line-up of Nissan TITANs performed extremely well under some very challenging conditions at this year's Texas Truck Rodeo," said Fred DePerez, vice president, North America LCV Business Unit, Nissan North America, Inc. "We're honored to take home the title of 'Commercial Vehicle of Texas' for the third year in a row." The Texas Truck Rodeo includes strenuous on-road and off-road evaluations by members of the Texas Auto Writers Association, one of the most influential and recognized automotive journalist associations in the country. This year's inclement weather made testing that much tougher. But by the end of Day 2, it was the Kicks, Murano and TITAN XD Diesel Single Cab on top in their respective categories. "The all-new Nissan Kicks came away with a much-deserved win after its first time competing in Texas," said Michael Marrs, president of TAWA. "Our journalists also gave the Murano high marks, and the TITAN made a strong showing as always."

Nissan debuts the 2019 TITAN, the most refined TITAN yet

With the Texas sun shining and deep fryers frying, Nissan returned to the heart of truck country – the annual State Fair of Texas – today to reveal the 2019 TITAN, the most refined TITAN yet. Following a rockin' performance from Fender® artist Eric Johnson, the new pickup was introduced by Fred DePerez, vice president, North American LCV Business Unit, Nissan North America, to a group of the nation's top truck, auto and lifestyle media a day before doors open to an anticipated 2.5+ million fair-goers. On sale this fall, the 2019 TITAN and TITAN XD will be on display through October 21 at the historic Fair Park in Dallas. "The 2019 TITAN will be our most refined truck yet," said DePerez. "Backed by America's Best Truck Warranty2 – featuring bumper-to-bumper coverage of 5-years/100,000-miles – the 2019 TITAN and TITAN XD will build upon today's strength and capabilities by adding advanced technology, new safety features and an awesome new audio system to provide the soundtrack for all the amazing adventures ahead of you." more In addition to the 2019 TITAN and TITAN XD unveilings, DePerez provided media with a look at the first official TV spot in the purpose-driven Calling All TITANs marketing campaign. Nissan and partners American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and National Park Foundation first announced the campaign on Sept. 5 and will set another milestone when the spot airs tonight during the North Carolina vs. Miami college football game on ESPN. Renowned producer and director Shawn Levy, known most recently for his work in the hit series Stranger Things, and second unit director Stephen Campanelli, directed the commercial. "At Nissan we believe America needs more TITANs, so today we are celebrating the TITANs of the Community, TITANs of the Neighborhood and TITANs of the Outdoors with the launch of the first TV spot of our purpose-driven Calling All TITANs campaign," added DePerez. "The commercial, led by the outstanding directors Shawn Levy and Stephen Campanelli, highlights the inspirational work of the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and the National Park Foundation – three national organizations we are proud to call partners." New for the 2019 model year, TITAN and TITAN XD models add the "emotion of a live performance" created by the new, segment-exclusive Fender Premium Audio System. The system features a 485-watt, 9-channel amplifier and Panasonic's proprietary Acoustic Motion Control™. It is offered on four 2019 TITAN and TITAN XD Crew Cab grade levels and one TITAN and TITAN XD King Cab model. Other 2019 model year refinements include a new standard 7.0-inch touchscreen audio/IT display with NissanConnect® featuring Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, and Nissan's exclusive Rear Door Alert system1. Also added for 2019 are additional USB media and charge ports for the front and back seat passengers and two new exterior colors – Moab Sunset and Midnight Pine. The Rear Door Alert (RDA) system is now standard on all King Cab and Crew Cab TITAN and TITAN XD models. The system uses the vehicle's door sensors, horn and message display to help remind drivers to check the back seat after the vehicle is parked. Nissan plans to have RDA standard on all four-door trucks, sedans and SUV nameplates by model year 2022. "In addition to being the traditional workhorse in the stable and hauling cargo, pickups today are used for hauling families – the most precious cargo of all," DePerez said. "With Nissan's Rear Door Alert system, TITAN drivers can feel even more confident whenever they leave their truck." All 2019 TITAN and TITAN XD models are assembled in Canton, Mississippi and covered by "America's Best Truck Warranty"2 – featuring bumper-to-bumper coverage for 5 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Vehicles covered by the new warranty, which includes basic and powertrain coverage, include all TITAN V8 gasoline-powered models and diesel and V8 gasoline-powered 2019 TITAN XD models. TITAN is available in a full range of rugged half-ton models, including Single Cab, King Cab and Crew Cab body configurations, 4x2 and 4x4 drive, and a choice of up to five grade levels. Every TITAN is powered by a 390-horsepower 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 gasoline engine mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. The 2019 TITAN XD lineup includes Crew Cab, King Cab and Single Cab body styles, two bed lengths, choice of a powerful Cummins® 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel or Nissan 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 engines, 4x4 or 4x2 drivelines and up to five well-equipped grade levels.
